One of my very favorite things to do this time of year is head to Alexander Michael’s for a bite, then do the Fourth Ward Holiday Home Tour. It signifies the beginning of the holiday season. Horse and carriage rides are available. Seeing the homes located in the heart of Uptown all festively decorated is a nice way to spend a couple of hours, not to mention get some great ideas to implement in your own home! This year marks the 37th year of the tour, and includes seven homes. If you are a fan of Victorian architecture, here’s your chance to see some of Charlotte’s historic ones, along with newer Uptown luxury condos. There are complimentary refreshments and tastings within homes or at official stops along the way, as well as choirs, hand bell ensembles, and seasonal music to get you in the holiday spirit.
It is a walking tour, tickets are $25 and are available at Alexander Michael’s Restaurant & Tavern, Park Road Books, 7thStreet Public Market, and all area Brixx Pizzas and Dean & DeLuca’s. Or, if you prefer, you may purchase online.
