The Elizabeth community, where you’ll find lots of great little mom and pop shops, eateries, and local hangouts. The architecture of the homes are varied and the tree canopy is lush.  This is one of the city’s oldest suburbs.  It’s a desirable location near Uptown and includes Independence Park.  The neighborhood is home to the second oldest trolley line in our area.  Eventually, Independence Blvd was built across Independence Park, dividing the community.  Interesting fact: the building that was originally Elizabeth College is now the hospital.  Central Piedmont Community College calls this area home as well.  They also do an annual Home and Garden Tour, not to be missed.
